Dave Edwards – 50 mile record – 1971

The 50th Anniversary of the Club was celebrated by a 50 mile scratch
track race held on Hurstville Oval on 21 March 1971. This was the first
event of its kind in Australia. Of the 30 Club athletes who started, Dave
Edwards won in a time of 6:29:41 with John Bowers 2nd in 7:00:23. There were
no other finishers. ”
