Some very sad news from Deb today, but I know she will be back stronger than ever.

Hi everybody Maggie here!

Unfortunately I have some paw news, on the 5th of June 2009 after 10,825 kilometres and 224 days Deborah under medical advice had to end her attempt to become the 1st female to run around Australia.  Due to the fall over me in Elliot NT Deborah has fractured both her navicula bones in her feet and will require surgery for them to heal.  This means D ran over 857 kilometres on fractured bones what a tail to tell!

The good news is under top medical supervision and an athletic recovery program in Feb 2010 Deborah will be making her 2nd attempt to become the 1st female to run around Australia and will continue her fundraising effort for the NBCF, of course I will be there with her all the way putting my best paw forward.  In the mean time Deborah´s recovery journey back to the road will be posted on the official Running Pink website www.runningpink.com.au so please keep it touch.

I, Deborah and the team of Running Pink would like to extend a huge thank to everyone who has followed, supported, sold merchandise and collected donations for us throughout the last 7 months we could not have done the journey without your support.   Running Pink is happy to announce that the run so far has raised over $100,000 for the NBCF and Deborah and I can claim that she was the 1st female and me the 1st dog to run from Hobart to Darwin, a huge achievement in itself!  However our efforts to help others isn´t over we will be continuing our fundraising throughout D’s recovery and if you would like to donate or purchase merchandise visit our donation page on our website.
