I am the founder of the Centurion Runners club, West australia. We organised 24 hour races, 48/24 hr race. Also Perth to Albany, over 500kms, Perth to Bunbury and geraldton to Perth. The club ceased to function in 1993.

I am now in 2010 attempting to resurect the Centurion CLUB. Its up in the air at the moment. I will merely be in an advisory capacity. The club in its golden age 19 85-93, was ahead of Australia in its approach to organisation. To join you had to complete an offical 100 miles in 24 hours.

I also, would like to encourage century cycle races in West Australia, with the distinctive Centurion badge awarded to those who finish under the time limit. The design will be slightly different.

Joe Record one of australias great runners has died at 67. Also, bryan Smith and the great and memorable Cliff Young. All three were multi finishers of the 1,oookms Melborne to Sydney.

Last but not least, West Australians will be travelling to the Comrades Marathon this year. I finished it ten times, 1964-1973. My number is in perpetuity,249.
